  Operation of any building requires and ecology of systems—no system exists independent of the other systems in a building. As such, an under-performing system (such as the air barrier) will affect performance of other related systems (such as the thermal barrier). Therefore it is important to take a comprehensive approach to the evaluation, and determine/define the systems in a building and how they work together.

Outline of our service

Air and Thermal Barrier Commercial Building

1. Exterior grade and water infiltration analysis.
2.  Shielding/Exposure survey.
3.  Structural inspection.
4.  Thermal barrier analysis.
5.  Air barrier testing and diagnostics.
6.  Heating system testing and diagnostics.
7.  Window/door condition and treatments.
8.  Combustible gas detection.
9.  Carbon monoxide testing.
10.  Combustion safety testing.
11.  Combustion efficiency analysis.
12.  Heating and ventilation ductwork evaluation.
13.  Appliance and electrical efficiency survey.
 The service includes a 12-16 page Whole Building Report summarizing the evaluation and analysis in plain language, and detailing the testing data. Prioritized retrofits are provided in a materials and methods instructional approach, allowing any experienced building contractor to use the report as a manual. An image CD is provided containing all digital photos and infrared images (accompanying voice records may also be requested).
